Abstract: John Minford is a distinguished contemporary English translator. From the perspective of cultural stand and translation notions, the present article studies his communication effort between Chinese and English cultures for nearly half a century. Dedicating himself to the exchange between the two cultures, Minford worked tediously to bring together both Chinese and English scholars’ understanding and interpretation of the texts, and explored the infnite richness of the two longest cultures. It is believed that John Minford desired to present “The Best China” from his translation text, which investigated the path of dynamic fidelity in both languages and cultures. Likewise, his devotion to the communication between Chinese and English has left a remarkable trace of a profound depth in understanding and graceful interpretation.
