英语-ing非限定小句意象图式中句法象似性的研究

摘要：

本文尝试从认知语言学和语用学的角度对-ing非限定小句的句法象似性进行意象图式的解释和分析,提出了-ing非限定小句的三个判断标准(过程标准、参与者标准、人际功能标准)和两个意象图式(部分-整体图式和链接图式)的本质属性。-ing非限定小句的顺序象似性和数量象似性在始源-路径-终点图式中,随着施事位置的逐渐后移和受格位置的逐渐前移,施事意义逐渐减弱,而受格意义和语篇标记性逐渐增强,这是与省力原则和词汇密度一致的。在线性顺序图式中,-ing非限定小句的距离象似性受到序列连贯与断续的影响;而在中心-边缘图式中,-ing非限定小句的标记象似性体现为形态标记和静态或终结的过程变化能够表达语义在程度上的逐渐提升或特指。

Abstract:

This paper aims to give a description and analysis of the syntactic iconicity of the non-restrictive -ing clause in image schema in both cognitive linguistics and pragmatics. It puts forward three criteria (process, participant, interpersonal function) and two image schemas (part-whole schema, link schema) to identify the essence of the non-restrictive -ing clause. In the source-path-destination schema of the iconicity of sequence and quantity, the gradual backward shift of the position of agent and the gradual forward shift of the position of the accusative will weaken the meaning of the agent and strengthen the meaning of the accusative,which is in agreement with the principle of least effort and lexical density. In the linear schema, the iconicity of proximity will be influenced by the consistence of sequence. The centre-periphery schema can demonstrate a gradual rise in the degree of semantics and special reference in marked morphology and static or telic processes in the non-restrictive -ing clause.
