摘要： 英语小句中非限定动词的选择问题一直是困扰中外学者的难点之一。本文从逻辑时序和逻辑力向两个变量入手,发掘了可以指导人们正确选择英语非限定动词的逻辑时序规律和逻辑力向规律,阐明了两规律背后的理据,并对部分例外现象作出了初步解释。

Abstract: The choice of a non-finite verb form after the main verb in an English clause has been one of the trickiest problems in English grammar. Adopting the framework of logical time sequence and logical force direction,the author of this paper has developed two rules governing the choice of non-finite verb forms. They are the rule of logical time sequence and the rule of logical force direction. Moreover,the motivations and exceptions of the two rules are also explored.
